Child Development Center - Main Campus Location
Our Mission at the Hawkeye Child Development Center is to focus on the whole child and their family by providing quality education to the children and the families we serve, and provide a safe and nurturing environment that our children and families feel welcome and comfortable to learn and succeed.
The Hawkeye Child Development Center provides care for children 6 weeks–5 years old. The Center is open to Hawkeye students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Our staff teaches developmentally appropriate practice in each classroom to match the way children develop and learn.
Children experience positive interactions with other children and staff through experimentation, play, learning, and exploration times through a variety of individual and group activities to stimulate social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development while guiding the children to self-direction, independence, and self-control.
The Hawkeye Child Development Center complies by the State of Iowa Department of Human Services and Health Department standards and the Waterloo Fire Department. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We participate in Iowa Quality For Kids (IQ4K).
